Additional Guidelines for Hunt Managers

  • Verify Users: Only invite individuals to your hunt's app after confirming their identity, in person or via video call. Avoid sharing invite links indiscriminately.

  • Use Encrypted Platforms: Share sensitive details like passwords via secure messaging apps like WhatsApp or Signal.

  • Monitor Suspicious Activity: Notify a BHSA officer if you observe unusual behavior or notice an increase in anti-hunt activists at events. Verify the identities of all mini-app users and report concerns to the BHSA.

General Advice for All Users

  • Create Robust Passwords: Use a combination of numbers, letters, and special symbols (e.g., @!*&) for your BHSA profile. Avoid hunting-related terms or easily guessable personal details like your name, address, or date of birth.

  • Secure Your Email: Ensure your email linked to the BHSA profile has a strong password. UseHaveIBeenPwned to check if your email or password has been compromised. Update them if necessary.

  • Lock Your Devices: Set a password for your phone and other devices using the BHSA app. Enable automatic locking after inactivity to prevent unauthorized access. Most breaches are "social hacks," involving physical theft or access.

  • Report Security Issues: If your account is hacked, deactivate it and inform a BHSA officer for further instructions.
